Virtual code of conduct

TL;DR

We are dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices.

We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate when taking part in Blackmill events, including in videos, live-streams or discussion areas, nor in related conversations on Twitter and other online media. Participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or removed from Blackmill events without a refund at the discretion of Blackmill.

Longer version

Harassment includes but is not limited to: offensive comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion or technology choices, sexual images, deliberate intimidation, stalking or harassing, sustained disruption, sending inappropriate messages, taking a screenshot and sharing content outside the event without permission, and unwelcome sexual attention.

Participants asked to stop any harassing behaviour are expected to comply immediately.

Sponsors are also subject to the anti-harassment policy. In particular, sponsors should not share sexualised images, activities, or other material or otherwise create a sexualised environment.

If a participant engages in harassing behaviour, Blackmill may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or removal from the event with no refund.

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact Elle or Lachlan immediately.

We expect participants to follow these rules at all times for the benefit of everyone. We value your participation.
